Let your curiosity about history take over with this Curiosity-Based Thinking workout from The Book of What If...?: What if the Mongol Empire Helped the United States' Westward Expansion?

What: What is an obsolete product or service you wish still existed?

Who: Who would have benefited more from smartphones: Genghis Khan or the Pony Express?

When: When in time would you go back in order to learn something valuable for today?

Where: Where do you go to gather value from past events?

How: How was communication in the 19th century better than it is today? How about the 13th century?

Why: Why are people addicted to growth?

Huh?: If the past is prologue, what is the future?

Wow!: What if the past can help the present? Think of some advice, technology, insight, etc. you find valuable today and email it to yourself in the future (or write it down and put it in an envelope and mail it to yourself... get creative with how you relay your past message today to your present self in the future).
